Simone was first seen on stage at the age of 5 with the Children’s Variety Show in Pewsey. Joining PVADS when she was 10 years old, she was in almost all of the productions of Pantomime and Tavern for over 20 years. From the age of 16 Simone has played virtually all of the character parts in Pantomime, Principal Girl and Boy, Dame, Idiot (twice), Cat, Dragon, Goose, Idiot Fairy Godmother and Wicked Witch (4 times). The first witch she portrayed in 1989 still holds the record for removing the most crying children from the hall in one single performance - a title of which she is still very proud, although a lot of credit must go to the spookiness of the old Bouverie Hall and the fact that she had severe tonsillitus at the time. She took the lead role of Eliza in 'My Fair Lady' in 1999 and for the last 8 years or so, she has joined various casts of PVADS Plays. Simone was on the PVADS Committee for five years, and she turned her hand to 'Director'with ‘The Adventures of King Arthur’ in 2000, co-directing 'Babes In The Wood'in 2001 and the 2002 panto 'Over The Moon'. She also took the role of Carrie Pipperidge, and helped to stage, PVADS' musical 'Carousel'. Her favourite parts to portray are serious and dramatic parts and of course the loveable idiot (which seems to come naturally!). But above all else has to be the wicked witch, and after 7 years of being ‘nice’ and liked by the kids on stage – she finally got to cackle again as the Ice Queen in our 2002 panto Over The Moon. Simone took a lead role in, and co-directed, our successful April 2002 play 'Out of Order' and also directed and appeared in May 2003's 'Caught In The Net'. She last played a witch when she was asked to stand in as The Wicked Witch Of The West in PVADS last musical, 'The Wizard Of Oz'. Her last panto role was playing the part of Priscilla The Goose, in our 2003 panto, Mother Goose, which she also directed. She then took a well earned break, but was back on stage in our April 2005 Play, and also appeared in our successful October 2005 production "Simply Theatre". Always busy on the pc designing and updating the site you are now in, she appears on the boards less often, however she couldn't resist the challenge of directing PVADS 2006 production of 'Noises Off'.
