Apology

I don't know if you noticed but, due to heavy work commitments, I missed two issues of your favourite newsletter.

Tavern Cabaret

My involvement with Tavern has been virtually zero so I was looking forward to being entertained on Saturday 11th when my wife and I, with a couple of friends, attended as paying guests. I was not disappointed!; the show was excellent and the evening just flew by.

My congratulations to all involved, not least to those who laboured behind the scenes, but nothing can detract from the performers and those who organised them. There are still two performances to come - order your tickets early as I think they will come under heavy demand.

Junior Production - Fri/Sat, 15/16 October

In addition to her contribution to Tavern, Nettie Powell has been working very hard on the Junior production for weeks now. Under her direction, things are shaping up very nicely and we all look forward to a genuine youth theatre event in Pewsey.

Pantomime 2005

Martin Clifton has agreed to produce our next Pantomime and wants to do Beauty & the Beast (subject to acquiring a suitable script). We can all relax a little, knowing that it's in safe hands.

One big innovation this year is the choice of dates. Instead of 6 performances on 5 consecutive days (2 on Saturday), we will do 6 performances split over 2 weekends.

There will be Friday evening, Saturday matineé and Saturday evening performances on two consecutive weekends. This provides 2 matineé performances and also means no performance on a school night.

Mary Poppins - Bristol

The take up for this show has been relatively small so it is not economical to hire a coach. Consequently, all the theatre goers are making their separate ways to the theatre in Bristol.

Bristol has had more than one world premiere and PVADS are right in the forefront. We took a party to see the Nutcracker before it reached the London stage a couple of years ago.

So there you have it; Pewsey, and PVADS, leading the way once again.

Pantomime 2005 Auditions

It is provisionally planned to hold auditions for this year's Pantomime immediately after the Youth Theatre Event on Sunday 17th October.

There will be parts for Juniors, Chorus and principals. Details from Martin Clifton (01672) 810436
