CARNIVAL FLOAT

Tiggy has counted all the dosh and advises that we collected a total of £115.50 on the float during the Carnival procession. Well done everyone

Panto 2004 - JACK & THE BEANSTALK

Next January's Panto is fully cast and rehearsals are well underway. The set design is in its final stages and painting work has already begun.

In response to consistent feedback regarding recent pantomimes we have deliberately chosen a script that has relatively few songs and which should finish by 10:00pm. This will suit the attention span of our younger audience and also provide opportunity for the grown-ups to have a drink on the way home.

As usual, there will be six performances starting on the Tuesday. What's new is that Tuesday is declared to be a "Preview Night" where all tickets cost £3.00 with no reserved seats. We need to fill the hall every night, so please encourage all your friends to come to the show .

Wizard of Oz

Another show is over. The feedback from around the village is very good and we can notch up another success. The Raffle and sale of tickets for the Gala performance raised a total of £739.00 for Meningitis Research and a cheque for that amount has been dispatched.

We are waiting for all the bills to come in but overall we are looking at a loss of several hundreds of pounds on the production. This is largely explained by the high royalty payment which is charged on this very popular show.

As always, it's bums on seats that we need. Please do all you can to publicise PVADS events If everyone who reads this newsletter bought two tickets to every show, we would never make a loss again.

Well it was a great show and a very successful trip. I'm already thinking about the next theatre trip and am looking at dates in March. More details as soon as I know them.

PACT - Christmas Event

We plan to operate a stall in the FireStation area on the afternoon, and will also present an hour-long show in the Bouverie Hall in the evening.

PVADS Bouverie Hall Projects

We are currently upgrading the electricity supply to the backstage area to three-phase mains power. This will provide considerable additional capacity, and will satisfy our lighting needs for the foreseeable future.

We have also been slowly upgrading the sound system over a number of years and have now outgrown the current storage arrangements. We are in negotiation with the Bouverie Hall to find a more appropriate way of storing the equipment so we can rapidly dismantle and reassemble the sound system, thus making the hall more easily available for day-time bookings during the run of our productions.
