The Spring play is now over for another year.
This year's production was Denim, by Jay Saunders. Martin Clifton and Nettie
Powell directed. The play was well received by the audience on each night
of the performances.
The author Jay Saunders was able to come and watch the Saturdays nights showing
having recently moved nearby, and met the cast and crew after the production.
He spoke very highly of the performance, having seen another armature group
perform the play, he commented on the difference between them both.
Congratulations to all involved.
After winning the Harold
Joliffe One Act Play Festival in Swindon, the youth play 'Two Woman and a
Chair' was performed in the Five Counties Area Final, at the Olympus Theatre
in Filton near Bristol. This took place on Saturday April 28th.
Actors Kate Powell and Alex Cuff gave an excellent performance on the day
but unfortunately did not end up the overall winners. However, given the area
they had to perform in due to the theatre having been doubled book on the
day, PVADS are very proud of what they achieved.
This year's musical Hello
Dolly is now into its rehearsal schedule. Parts have been allocated, but if
anyone is still interested in taking up a chorus role please contact Tiggy
Holmes or June Amor, who are the directors.
PVADS would like to welcome
Alex Cuff on to the Committee as Youth Representative. Newly appointed chairman
Nick Mitchell-Briggs felt it was necessary for the youths of PVADS to have
a say on what goes on within the Society.
Unfortunately the evening
of one act plays at Easton Royal has been cancelled. The evening was going
to take place on June 9th, but due another function in the village it will
no longer be taking place.
The other date for a Cabaret Evening in Easton Royal on June 23rd wiill still
go ahead.
