One Act Play Success for PVADYS

This year, two plays were entered in the Swindon festival.

The adult play was well received and several of the actors were mentioned, but the Youth entry, "A Dog's Life", ran away with three prizes and won through to the next and final round of the 5 Counties Youth Theatre.
Congratulations to Nettie Powell and all involved for this well deserved success;
Brenda Lilley Loving Cup Best performance by a youth group Beryldene Hunt Cup Best performance by a junior
Matthew Herring Award Technical theatre & stagecraft

The final round takes place in the Merlin Theatre, Frome College, on Sunday 24th April 2005. Supporters are welcome to attend. .

Panto 2005

The experiment to split the 6 performances across two weekends was found to have a number of benefits and will be retained for Panto 2006.

PVADS Publicity

At last week's committee meeting, a number of changes were agreed regarding how we handle publicity.

A new role as publicity co-ordinator has been created; directors of shows will be responsible for producing publicity information and material, but it will be the publicity coordinator's responsibility to build relationships with the press etc. and to feed information to them as appropriate.

Our first publicity coordinator will be approved and confirmed in the role at the forthcoming AGM.

Apology

Apologies for all the missing issues (none since December). This will be my last PVADS newsletter - a new correspondent will be selected at the AGM and I wish them every success. Andy.
