June 2003

Caught in the Net

Well it was another great success. Congratulations to the cast and everyone else involved in the production. Thanks also, to all those who have placed review comments on the PVADS web site (check it out).

Wizard of Oz

The part of the Wicked Witch of the West (a late change due to work commitments) has gone to Simone. Congratulations Simone - no fear of type casting there then! Anita Lay has been persuaded out of retirement yet again, but June and Tiggy would still appreciate help with the costumes - there are curtains to be run up too. If you are able to offer assistance, please one or other of them a call; June Amor - 01672 563 051 Tiggy Holmes - 01672 563 735

Feaste Ball

Darren is still keen to hear from people interested in taking part in the floor show. If you haven't already declared your interest and availability, text him or give him a call on 07900 474 407. There will be two performances. One at the Feaste Ball for Carnival, and a second, command performance for the Bowls Club. Dates are shown in the panel.

Carnival Float

Mark Spanswick has again accepted the role of Floatmaster. Thanks Mark - it's much appreciated. The current choice of theme (subject to change) is Black & White Minstrels. As previously announced, we'll have a choreographed (but simple) dance routine and all those wanting to go on the float will be required to learn and rehearse the routine. If you're up for it, please declare your interest to a committee member.

Panto 2004, Director ?

Martin has produced six out of the last seven pantomimes and Simone has directed four of them. They would both like to sit back and takes parts in the 2004 production (especially Martin) so we are looking for a production team. If you are a PVADS member and have a secret hankering to get involved in the production side, then here is a chance to realise it. Just have a quiet conversation with any committee member.

Chitty Chitty Bang Bang

Thursday 13th November This is an expensive show, but by booking five months ahead, I've managed to negotiate a really good deal. We've got 53 of the second best seats in the London Palladium, for only 50p more than we paid to see Miss Saigon in Bristol (that's including the Coach). The full cost is £37.50 per person (sadly no concessions are available). As always, it's open to all comers, there's no need to be a current member of the society. Please let me know how many tickets you'd like to reserve. And tell all your friends too. . (Andy Vowles, 01672 563 987)
