Bums on Seats

We have two very expensive events coming up this autumn and we need everyone to help ensure we get full houses. First is the Feaste Ball on Saturday 13th September. This is a big change from the usual Tavern that has been our contribution to Carnival for many years. We have booked a really good dance band and that is expensive. Consequently, we have a target to sell 150 tickets to ensure we cover all the costs and, even more important, to make it a really good occasion. Posh frocks in Pewsey!

The second high profile production is The Wizard of Oz in the third week of October. Our musicals always draw high praise and it makes sense to share the experience with as many people as possible - it's always better playing to full houses. It's expensive to put on a high quality show and we need to generate enough revenue from ticket sales to cover this, but there is another reason to maximise our income from this show - The Meningitis Research Foundation (Reg Charity No. 1091105).

The fourth and last performance of The Wizard of Oz, on Saturday 25th October, will be a Gala Performance (with Cheese & Wine and a Raffle), and half the face value of every ticket sold for that performance will go directly to the charity. PVADS connection with The Meningitis Research Foundation started when "Fred" Woodward - much loved and respected producer and director of many of our shows - succumbed to this disease and died in January 2001.
