Colin first joined the Society in 1960 for a play called ‘And This Was Odd’ and followed this in 1961 with ‘Doctor in the House’. When the Society begin to perform pantomime in the early 1970’s, Colin was in numerous pantomimes in the 70’s and 80’s, where police postings permitted, playing either an idiot or a dame, and even the odd play. He was a founding member of ‘Tavern In The Town’ and did much chorus work and sketches. More recently he has been assisting in the production of Tavern. His major roles have been Fagin in ‘Oliver’, Max Detweiler in ‘The Sound of Music’ and Higgins in ‘My Fair Lady’. Colin also enjoys work on the sets and backstage as much as performing. He co-produced 2002's Jubilee Tavern - A Cabaret, and appeared in our entry into the Swindon One Act Play Festival in February 2003. He also appeared in our 2005 Pantomime, Beauty & The Beast, as the Beast. He has been Chairman of the Society on several occasions, and although he is taking a break from PVADS Committee, he is our Carnival Representative.
