One Act Plays

PVADS have decided to replace 'Hello Dolly' with an evening of One Act Plays. Martin Clifton and Nettie Powell will be directing them. There will be a Youth play and two Adult plays.

The youth play is called 'The Fall Of The House Of Usher' by Edgar Allan Poe. The two adult plays are 'Two Woman And A Chair' and 'A Kind Of Justice'. The society entered them both into the one act play festival in Swindon and they both won awards. The play 'Two women and a chair' went on to the 5 counties final in Bristol to represent Wiltshire.

The dates for the performances will be the 18th, 19th, 20th of October .

Goodnight Sweetheart

This will be the Carnival Event put on by PVADS. The theme for the event will be set on the 40's. There will be a live swing band playing, as well as many other authentic themes dating back from the 40's and the war. We hope to have the hall decorated out in 40's style.

Paul Hornbogen and John Lavis are running this event. It will take place on Saturday 15th September

Carnival Float

This year PVADS will be entering a float for the Carnival. Nettie Powell is this year's float master. The theme for this year's entry will be 'Street Theatre'.

If you are interested in helping out or taking part on the float please contact Nettie on nettie.powell@btinternet.com

New Equipment

The Society has decided to update the way they sell tickets. We are looking to buying a new ticket machine which will make booking seats for productions easier than before. There will be an option of buying tickets on line. We are also looking at buying new microphones, this will improve the quality of the sound
