Theatre Trip: CHICAGO

Thanks to everyone who has sent me their money.  The Theatre has been paid and I have received the tickets.

The show starts at 8:00pm (not 7:30pm as I had originally thought), so we should be OK for the coach to leave at 4:30pm.  I will check with Pewsey Vale Coaches and will confirm in plenty of time (it’s not till November after all).

Incidentally, I have just one single ticket left if anyone is interested. . . . .

Theatre Trip - Starlight Express

Yes, it IS true - it IS closing.  Though thankfully not completely! (see Theatre News)  Either Andy or Simone will organise a trip to see it in it's old home before it does close there - info will be given as soon as possible.  Meanwhile check out the information available on
Theatre News

Carnival Float

The famous Pewsey Carnival is here again and we need volunteers to help construct the PVADS entry in the 2001 procession.  As last year, we plan an early start and have a schedule (see below).

 Mark Spanswick is the Float Master and all construction work will be done, under his supervision, in the Cooper’s Field.  If you are interested in helping, please let Mark (or me) know, or just turn up at the Cooper’s Field.  Here’s the schedule;

Saturday, 25th August     -        2:00pm to 5:00pm

Saturday, 1st September   -        2:00pm to 5:00pm

Saturday, 8th September   -       2:00pm to 5:00pm

Saturday, 15th September  -       2:00pm to 5:00pm

Sunday, 16th September    -       2:00pm to 5:00pm

Thursday, 20th September  -     9:00am to 5:00pm

Friday, 21st September      -       9:00am to 5:00pm

Saturday, 22nd September   -     9:00am to 3:30pm

In Memoriam
With the death of Geoff Kunkler, PVADS has lost a long serving member and friend.
Geoff contributed over many years, not least by supporting Dulcie in her role as Treasurer.  I know that Dulcie, Judith and Jerry are in all our thoughts.
TAVERN 2001

We are in the thick of the holiday season so people are thin on the ground in rehearsals. Also, two people have had to withdraw from the show making it necessary to re-jig some of the chorus numbers.  It all adds up to business as usual, but it seems a bit more usual than usual this year (does that make sense ??).  Colin and Tiggy are working hard to ensure we have another great show.

We are missing Dulcie on the catering front but Jacqui has things firmly under control.  However, we could use extra people to take the Bar orders.  The critical period is between 7:00pm and 8:00pm when everyone is arriving (it settles down after that).  If you know of someone who could help for an hour  on one or more nights, then please let Colin or Tiggy know.
