Following the recent AGM that was held on Tuesday 3rd April, PVADS can reveal
that Nick Mitchell-Briggs has been appointed as the new Chairman, Rob Bottoms
as Vice Chairman, Jane Cuff as Secretary and Martin Clifton takes on the role
as Treasurer. PVADS would like to wish them all the best of luck in their
new roles.
The society would like to thank, Brain German and Andy Vowels for their hard
work over the years as Chairman and Treasurer, they will be staying on the
committee, and also to June Amor who leaves the committee after a number of
years.
Three new faces have joined the committee, Brad and Emma Harris and Darren
Little.
Rehearsals for this years
Spring Play Denim, by Jay Saunders are well underway under the direction of
Martin Clifton. The play is set in a pub which contains strong language and
there are moderate sex references, therefore it will not be suitable to
younger audiences.
Tickets (£7, £5) will be on sale from Monday April 23rd. The production will
take place from May 10th -12th.
After winning the Harold Joliffe
One Act Play Festival in Swindon the youth play 'Two Woman and a Chair' will
be preformed in the Area Final at the Olympus Theatre in Filton near Bristol.
This will take place on Saturday April 28th.
Nettie Powell has organised a mini bus, so if anyone is interested in going
please contact Nettie to book a place on the bus.
There was a good turnout for
the auditions of 'Hello Dolly' which will be the musical in October. Tiggy
Holmes and June Amor will be directing. Parts for the musical have been allocated
and rehearsals will begin on Sunday May 13th.
